Martha McKittrick, RD, CDE
Martha McKittrick is a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator. She specializes in weight control, cardiovascular health, polycystic ovarian syndrome, diabetes, sports nutrition, women’s health and preventive nutrition. A staff dietitian at New York -Presbyterian Hospital for over 20 years, she also counsels clients privately and is a consultant to physicians, health clubs, and corporations.
Martha earned her Bachelors Degree in Nutrition from The University of Massachusetts and had a Dietetic Internship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association and a member of the following ADA practice groups: Nutrition Entrepreneurs, SCAN (Sports, cardiovascular and nutrition) and Diabetes Care and Education.
Ms. McKittrick has appeared on numerous television, radio and web cast programs. She has been interviewed by and written for publications including The Journal of The American Dietetic Association, Dietitian’s Edge, Nutrition Today, Allure , Self, Family Circle, New York Newsday, and Cooking Light. Martha also lectures on a regular basis for companies including Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, American Express, Novartis, Pfizer and the American Menopause Foundation. She has also lectured for health professionals at the Long Island Dietetic Association, the Florida State Dietetic Association, the Greater New York Dietetic Association and the New York State Dietetic Association. In addition, she has been a spokesperson for several major companies.
Martha was a health expert on WebMD’s Diet and Nutrition Message Board for 7 years. She also developed the nutrition component for the Cardiac Health Center at The New York Presbyterian Hospital. She currently has a blog called City Girl Bites at http://citygirlbites.com , where she provides accurate nutrition information for people on the go.
